So quiet!

Purchased this range hood for our remodel. We had several wishes for a new vent-- squared-off profile, island mount, ducted, 400+CFM. This one seemed to fit the bill. But the BEST part about this is the remote blower. Gone are the days of having to yell over our guests to hear over the loud fan. The blower is up in the attic now and this works like a charm. Very satisfied!

Beautiful addition to a streamlined home kitchen!

The ZLINE island mount range hood is a beautiful addition - sturdy mounting, clean lines (no big logos!), and very quiet. Though the name brand is trusted and promises "attainable luxury", it is still unnerving to buy something so costly without ever seeing (or hearing) it. The air draw is remarkable and the controls on BOTH sides of the unit make it not just luxurious but practical. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a high-end vent hood.

Great Solution

I’ve had this up and running for several weeks now outdoors over my barbecue. It’s fantastic and does exactly what it needs to. I We are in the process of some outdoor updating, and our bbq has ended up completely covered, which meant we would have to hang an island mount vent over it. We were concerned that the bulk of the vent would obscure the view from one side of the patio to the other. Instead, this vent has become a focal point in the project and looks beautiful! And it’s rated for outdoors which was difficult to find. Our contractor had no issues installing it, and it arrived via freight in great shape. A good decision on our part.

Fantastic 48” Island Vent Hood !!!

I bought the 48” island vent hood to install above my grill located in my screened porch. The installation was super easy and all necessary parts & screws were included in the package! The unit works fine…excellent draft and love the LED lights. Highly recommended.

Very Slick Looking!

Just had the hood installed last Tuesday, but the grill is not hoojed up yet so really havent used hood to see how it works. It is sleek looking and doesnt dominate our small outdoor kitchen area, which is what we we wanted. The fan does seem quite loud though even on a '1' setting so a little disappointed about that. We had looked at another hood with style design and they touted a very quiet fan, but they were out of stock so we'll never know. Once grill installed and we use our sear zone, we'll see what kind of job it does.

Handsome at distance.... but

Just finished getting this installed. Product seems decently sturdy, and it really looks good except for several spots when inspected up close. Two scuffs and a few specks that appear to be under the poly finish on the butcher block, a ding on one corner, and some spots where they inexplicably used a dark filler for some spots where the butcher block didn't align perfectly at glue-up. The quality of the butcher block wrap is... poor, and it's the main feature of this range hood. Secondly, we installed this at a standard height above a standard countertop height cooktop, with a standard 8-foot ceiling. In order to do the installation, our contractors had to cut roughly 6 inches off both of the provided chimney pieces and all the provided struts. I don't know what the "expectation" is for installation, but it's definitely not anything resembling standard heights. I'm not the first reviewer to make note of this. The good news is that it's really beautiful at a distance, and it's also really quiet when moving air. At the 2nd setting, you can forget the fan is on from only a few steps away.

Excellent product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased unit with remote blower and short chimney for a low kitchen ceiling over island stove and is working great! Product support was great both during the purchase process and follow up questions. Due to a lower ceiling height and while maintaining room view, I had to modify the installation process. This was due to the fact that if I used both 12” chimney sections I would be 4” lower than the recommended 30” as the “telescoping” minimum is closer to 16” if following normal installation steps. Per instructions, I first determined ceiling bracket location and marked/cut vent hole and predrilled the 4 corner mounting bolt locations, then installed attic ceiling blocking. (Now the installation was modified). The 4 holes were then drilled through the blocking and bracket with 3/8" bit. Once the "attic" was ready, I installed four 3/8" x 4" machine bolts in the ceiling bracket corners in the "up" position and secured in place with nuts on the ceiling side of bracket. The holes in the ceiling "drywall" were also enlarged so the nuts would recess allowing the ceiling bracket to flush up tight. I installed a predetermined length of 8” solid vent pipe since local code (and most others) require non flexible ducting for hoods. I then mounted the ceiling bracket to the hood with the supplied corner brackets though I did have to drill new holes in the brackets for mounting to the hood (as there is an upper and lower bracket). The ceiling bracket lip also needed a slight grinding off of approximately 1/4” or so to match overall chimney length (11 3’4”) from hood to top of ceiling bracket. One short chimney was now installed down over the ceiling bracket with the top matching overall height to flush out to the ceiling. Two friends easily lifted the hood assembly guiding the vent pipe and 3/8” bolts through the ceiling holes which I (in the attic) tightened up the nuts with washers with an impact tool. The kitchen side was now complete! Installing the remote blower onto the preinstalled vent pipe and through the roof was easily completed. I would feel very comfortable purchasing and installing this system again! And now my gal doesn’t complain of cooking smells in the back of the house!!

Works well

I have been using this range hood for two months. I have to use it on setting 4 to be able to cook when the air conditioner is on. Otherwise, the AC Return will pull the air to it instead of the range hood doing that.

do not expect 1200 cfmn

I did a lot of research andf I wished we would have done more - this is not even a 8" duct -its about 7.25 - the hood whisles because there is not enough filter area along with duct size to handle the air - Instuctions are very poor - information from dealers in not accurate ok but performance wise , I would look elsewhere - Never put in anything less than a TRUE 10" duct on a island - for the money its ok , but we wanted better performance than trhis hood is capable - its just OK

Great features and appearance.

We have one of your hoods in our new kitchen and we love it...we had difficulty removing smoke from under our covered patio as we have almost no air movement. Now we have eliminated the issue and have added to the atmosphere and look of our custom set-up. So excited to get this.... It was not an easy installation for me as a homeowner but I am confidant if we did it a second time we would be quite efficient.
