OUR HISTORY

Back in 1950, Vernon and Charcelene Johnson founded a home products store as an extension of Vern’s general contracting business. Known originally as The Home Center, the business eventually came to specialize in home appliances. As Central Oregon welcomed many new residents over the years, Johnson Brothers expanded to meet the appliance needs of the tri-county area, becoming known for product expertise and personalized service to local home builders.

In 2000, Vern's son Bob Johnson became General Manager of the business while his daughter Charcie oversaw the accounting functions and human resources. Bob’s wife Marsha headed up the advertising and marketing departments. Long-time employees Tammie Reid and Darren Hess rounded out the management team. The Johnson family, their staff, and many business associates felt a deep loss at Bob's untimely death in October of 2015.

Not long after this loss Bob’s sons left their careers, moved back to Bend, and assumed daily management of the company. Charcie Madsen and Marsha Johnson continue with many behind-the-scenes functions. The four owners are committed to carrying on the family legacy of serving Central Oregon with integrity.
